Maharishi Ayurveda Gesundheitszentrum

The Maharishi Seelisberg is the first Ayurveda center in Switzerland and one of the first centers in Europe. Visitors can expect quality-controlled Ayurveda treatments, under the supervision of experienced Western doctors and the attention of a Yogic Values-Living team.

Supervising physician Dr. Sophie Beall has over 20 years of experience in conventional medicine as well as in ayurveda, and directs the health center Seelisberg. She consults patients from all over the world in German, English and French languages. All therapists from the center are very well educated and live in an exemplary manner, the principles of Yoga and ayurveda.

A wide range of treatments and ambulant therapies are available. To familiarize yourself with the Ayurvedic methods, it is possible to book single consultations and treatments such as synchronized massage or cosmetics. Short-term stays from two to four days can be dedicated towards relaxation, fitness and stress-management.

After completion of an Ayurvedic health check, massages, and other treatments, there is always enough time to go for a walk in the wonderful surroundings of Seelisberg, or to practice Yoga, meditation, attend evening events or listen to Gandharva music.

For a thorough panchakarma treatment one should plan eight, ten or 12 days here.

Maharishi Seelisberg uses products from the world-famous brand “Maharishi Ayurveda” which guarantees a high certified standard. These herbal preparations are produced and monitored in India and are used to enrich the oils and treatment pastes according to the respective constitution.

Ayurvedic diet is taken seriously as a main component of treatment; and therefore, ayurvedic delights of light and warm quality are served. The cuisine is strictly vegetarian and uses fresh, and mostly organic ingredients.

The buffet is organized for self service with five different meals provided. In the colder months meals are served in the beautiful dining room, while the terrace is open during the summer months.

In the morning, simple Yoga exercises are instructed. One may also learn transcendental meditation if interested. This method of meditation aims at calming the mind activity through the use of mantra.

Live concerts with Indian musicians and evening lectures on various Ayurveda topics take place at the center occasionally.

To top off the offer, further forms of therapy include color healing with gemstone radiators, aroma therapy with VedAroma oils, and cosmetic facial treatments using products from their in-house cosmetic line.

Trainings to become an ayurveda therapist, as well as introductory ayurvedic programs for Western medical doctors can be completed here.

Patients may choose between two lodging options: Hotel Pilgerheim and Vastu Chalet. The more simple and cozy, family-run Hotel Pilgerheim is located in the same building as the health center. It offers rooms with balcony and a good view over the mountains and lake. Vastu Chalet is fancier and pricier but more tranquil.
