Seehotel Bären Brienz

Badge-long

Watching from the terrace over Brienzer See with the scenery of the Berner Berge, one simply has to deepen the breath to absorb the magical surrounding. It is said that this beautiful location contributes to the health improvement of its Ayurveda guests. The other senses will be fulfilled as well: the excellent cuisine pleases the palate and the mellow tranquility flatters the ears. The herbs growing here smell sweet and the massages create the balm for your body and soul.

The Seehotel Bären Brienz has been under the direction of Monique Werro for 17 years. She is responsible for the authenticity of the Ayurveda treatments here, along with a very professional team of Ayurveda doctors and therapists. Any oils, powders and herbs are directly imported from Kerala.

The Ayurvedic therapists here have all had a first-class education in India or Sri Lanka. They are specialized to release the muscles of the typical city dweller, using targeted massage techniques. Single treatments, especially a wide variety of massages, as well as cosmetic treatments, can be compiled á la carte.

An offer of several treatment programs allows everyone to find a suitable match: from single wellness days to four-day treatments for managers, and from seven-day Ayurveda-light treatments to packages of 21 days for stress reduction, purification, or rejuvenation.

The classical panchakarma treatment is completed here in 15 days, given in 36 treatment steps. Four physicians on-site provide for the most individual care.

The exquisite Indian Ayurvedic cuisine offers a diverse menu under the direction of a very good Indian chef. Fans of the Western breakfast should not worry: at the start of the day the Ayurvedic diet is not as strict so the guests may also enjoy their bread rolls. The guest decides: all meals can be served either à la carte or in-room.

Weekend seminars on Ayurveda, including Ayurveda and Yoga programs with twice daily Yoga sessions, are offered regularly. Otherwise, walks around the lake are recommended as alternative exercise.

The Ganesha boutique, located in the hotel, is assembled with gifts, books, clothing from India, as well as original Indian Ayurvedic massage oils and beauty products. You'll also find some tasty spice mixtures compiled by Mr. Syril, a guest Chef from Kerala. Aromatic teas, incense blends and hand made soaps can also be purchased.

Surely a highlight for the culturally interested, are the regular art exhibitions displayed throughout the entire hotel.

In the quiet of the evening hours, the large library is an invitation to an extensive reading session, with many Ayurvedic textbooks and light fiction.

Almost every room offers a wonderful view over the lake – and purposely no TV. All rooms are above average, tastefully cozy, and lovingly decorated.

About the area: Brienz

Brienz is a a small holiday destination, situated in the heart of Switzerland, in the Bernese Oberland, at the upper end of Lake Brienzer See. The hotel is directly at Lake Brienzer See, embedded in the impressive Alpine scenery - ideal for nature enthusiasts. There are lakes, water falls, rock bars, woods and even a crystal grotto to discover.

Easy departure over the highway N8 is possible, as no big mountain passes have to be crossed. The center can also be easily reached by train, either via Lucerne and the Brünig, or via Bern and Interlaken.

From spring till autumn one can depart from Interlaken by boat and land so to speak, directly on the doorstep of the hotel - their private pier for scheduled boats.
